This level 1 core exercises activates your deep abdominal muscles and helps you learn how to keep neutral spine and pelvis during movement of your legs. This helps to take excessive pressure off the structures in your lower back by using your core to stabilise the area.


Instructions

Set neutral spine, breathing and core activation. On the breath OUT keeping a little bit of pressure through the heel, slowly to slide your heel away from you in a straight line. Don't let pelvis tilt and lower back lift off the ground throughout movement. Pause and breath in. Breath out through your mouth and return knee to start. Maintain deep abdominal contraction throughout movement.
