Shoulder Joint and Rotator Cuff |
Shoulder pain, injuries and surgery is something we see very commonly with our active patients, as they are always pushing themselves that little bit extra!
Injuries can happen following a sudden lifting, pulling or arm above head movement, or gradual onset of pain from repetitive lifting, age-related changes and lots of movement with poor biomechanics. |
Lumbar Spine, SIJ and Core |
Getting you pain-free, back to normal strength, lifting correctly and returning you to exercise is what we do.
The most common acute pain and injury presentations we see are related to the muscles, joints, discs and nerves in the lower back.
Our Physiotherapists will help you overcome your back injury with our thorough approach of hands-on Physiotherapy combined with extensive exercise prescription. |
Knee and Patello-femoral Joint |
Knee injuries are very common in both training and in competition, when you are putting your body through its paces. Ground impact, load, twisting and change direction forces, collision, stability, strength and biomechanics can all play a part no matter what the injury. The older we get too, the more important it is to work on rehab exercises to help with injury prevention.
No matter whether it’s a niggling pain in your knee or post-operative rehab from a knee reconstruction, we have the right assessment, treatment and exercises to help you progress and achieve your goals in returning to training and sport. |
Cervical and Thoracic Spine |
Neck pain and headaches can be literally that – a pain in the neck. There can be many causes ranging from posture, age, genetics, weakness or acute trauma.
Acute injuries can involve spraining or straining of the muscle tissues and in the neck whereas gradual onset neck pain often occurs in patients that are involved with office work, repetitive/prolonged bending, poor posture, sleep positions, lifting or a combination of these activities.
The Thoracic Spine is closely related to the neck and often involved in the postural cause of many of the neck issues we treat, but can also have isolated injuries. |
Hip, Groin and Hamstring |
From anterior hip joint pain to gluteal tendon tendinopathy, there are a lot of things that can cause pain in and around the hip.
Diagnosing the problem is essential in getting the right stretches and exercises to help you through the rehab phase of injury, as well as a structured program for post-operative hip and tendon surgery. |
Calf, Ankle and Achilles |
Many of our clients run, and so we are well versed in the multitude of injuries that can happen to the lower limb in the active sportsperson.
There are a lot of ligaments, tendons and muscle that can be injured through biomechanical overuse or trauma.
Correct management of both acute and chronic sprains, tears and ruptures is crucial for short and long term successful return to exercise and sport. |
Elbow and Wrist |
Elbow injuries respond best to Physiotherapy treatment when assessment is sought soon as possible after the injury.
The elbow can be a tricky area to improved rapidly and so delaying treatment can eventuate in long standing issues that take months to improve.
It is also important that an accurate diagnosis is given as symptoms can be referred from your other areas like your neck and brachial plexus (nerves) similar to neuralgia of the upper limb |
