A3 | Standing Eversion (band)

A3 | Standing Eversion (band)

To strengthen the everters of the ankle, namely the peroneals, under load in a standing position. This is appropriate for people who need increased strength in their ankles for stability following ankle injury, surgery or tendon injuries.

Demonstration and Instructions

Attached a theraband or light powerband to a fixed object like a pole or under a table or sofa leg. Place the band around the ankle so it's ABOVE the ankle bones (malleoli of the tibia and fibula). Face in a direction that the band is pulling in from the outside of your ankle (see education video for more detail). Step away to there is enough tension on your leg but not so much you are pulled over or its too hard to move your ankle in. Slowly let your ankle roll outwards all the way (the band is rolling your ankle out) and then slowly pull it back inwards, so the outside of your foot just comes off the ground.
