PHYSIO REHAB GROUP CLASSES
WHAT'S INVOLVED IN A PHYSIO REHAB GROUP CLASS?
All too often we see patients improving under our care only to go down hill once they've been discharged because they stop working on their rehab exercises! Our classes are run by our Physiotherapists to help guide you through the final stages of your rehabilitation. We teach you the latest exercise techniques and use varying equipment to help you increase body awareness and proprioception, encouraging appropriate muscle activation and improve your strength and stability - everything you need to keep you on track with your regime and recover from your injury 100%. Our Classes are also designed for patients who no longer need much hands on care from their physios but need that last 10-20% of strengthening to ensure their injury does not return. Whether you are a highly tuned athlete or just find your injury is impeding on your every day life, everyone can learn and get something out of our group rehab classes.
There are usually 4 people per class with a maximum number of 6 people per class.
Small classes allow for one-on-one attention to your exercise technique and hands on correction of your form and technique as needed.
Classes are 50-55 minutes duration.
An initial one on one assessment with one of our physiotherapists may be needed to make sure you have the fundamentals down packed and to make sure there are no reasons you shouldn't be doing the classes.
If you have already been seeing one of our physiotherapists they will let you know when you are ready to begin classes.
The classes are not allocated into levels so they can be tailored to each individual to get you working at a level which is appropriate for your strengths and abilities.
Your Physiotherapist can individually tailor the class to keep you working at a safe and appropriate level of exercise and then progress you as your ability and strength improves.
BACK + CORE REHAB GROUP CLASS
'Back + Core Rehab' group classes are designed to improve lower back and core strength, glute and hip stability, body awareness and proprioception, increase lumbo-pelvic strength and stability, and teach correct movement patterns and techniques. Stretches and soft tissue release using varying equipment are incorporated into classes to help you improve your body's biomechanics. These classes are also great for people with knee pain or knee injuries that need to improve their glutes, core and hip stability to help their knee rehab program. Back + core rehab classes are for people who have or have suffered from: Lower back and spinal pain, Lumbar disc injuries, Weak inner core and poor pelvic stability, Lazy or weak glutes and poor hip stability, Pelvic floor dysfunction, Hip and groin injuries, Sacro-iliac joint pain and dysfunction, Back muscle strains and sprains, Poor posture/ body awareness, People who want to get the best out of their training by improving their core strength, People with knee pain or injuries that need stronger glutes and hip stability.
All classes are $35 each. You will need to pre-purchase at least 8 classes up-front and then can take the receipt into your health fund after completing all the pre-paid classes to claim under your Physiotherapy cover. With some health funds they cover all of the class fee. When you purchase a 12 pack you only pay for 11, getting one free! NOTE: Class packages expire after 3 months as it is important that you attend regularly to get the maximum benefit from our classes.

We recommend booking all of your classes in at once to ensure you get a regular spot, as you can always call to change them later. You can advance book up to 12 weeks in a row.
